Project Title : Crisis Response

Thematic Area : Crisis Response

Project Summary

Since the 2021 military coup, life has changed drastically for so many in our communities. That’s why we put together our Crisis Response programme — to act quickly and humanely when people need it most. At its heart, this work is about standing alongside families during their toughest moments and offers practical support that brings some relief and restores a sense of dignity.

Under Crisis Response component,

1. We provide multi-purpose cash assistance (MPCA) and give people the flexibility and dignity to decide what they need most — whether it’s food, medicine, transport, rent, or other essentials — based on their own priorities and circumstances.
2. We help ensure continued access to healthcare in areas where hospitals are no longer functioning or safe to reach. Our approach combines two key models: strategic purchasing to support individuals in covering healthcare costs at trusted facilities, and the direct delivery of essential primary healthcare services in emergency settings where formal systems have collapsed.
3. We also support internally displaced persons (IDPs) who’ve been forced to flee their homes, responding flexibly to their changing circumstances. Whether they’re in temporary shelters, living with host communities, or on the move, we work to ensure they have access to basic essentials such as shelter materials, food, healthcare, and other urgent support.
4. WASH is a part of our responses by prioritising the construction of sanitary latrines, the provision of clean water supply, and the distribution of essential hygiene items. These efforts are crucial in preventing the spread of disease and safeguarding the health, dignity, and well-being of crisis-affected communities.

It’s not just about aid — it’s about care, trust, and being there for each other when it matters most.
