Pakokku People’s Revolution Committee (PPRC) organised a protest to mark the 63rd anniversary of the Student Uprising in 1962, which saw students protest against the regime of Ne Win.
In June, the World Bank estimated that Myanmar’s economy is set to shrink 2.5 per cent in the 2025-2026 financial year, significantly owing to the earthquake. The leader of Myanmar military, however, claimed that the prediction is based on “inaccurate and incomplete data”.
On July 5, Tatmadaw calls on PDFs and EROs to join its planned elections. As a political counter-offensive, NUG pledged all resistance groups to reject the sham elections.
The conflict became intense between resistance forces and Tatmadaw in the villages of Chauk township, Magway, resulting in about 8000 people fleeing from their homes.
