What is Happening in Central Burma (Ah Nyar)? Issue 19/2025

Sitrep
- According to the PLA, the fighting is still intense near Kant Daunt village between resistance forces and the Tatmadaw.
- The column of Tatmadaw forces, about 70 forces, departed from Hantharwadi village and then reportedly tried to raid Kanthar village, from the southern part of Kalay township, which was captured by local resistance groups in April 2025, according to CDF KKG.
- Chin National Front/Army (CNF/CNA) signed a five-point agreement with local forces (HPO/CDF Hualngoram) to jointly manage political, military, and economic affairs in the India–Myanmar border area. Under the agreement, CNF/CNA will take administrative and economic responsibility for the India–Myanmar No. 2 trade route connecting Rihkhawdar (in Falam Township, Chin State) and Mizoram, India. CDF Hualngoram will operate under CNA command, and CNF/CNA pledged to support its development.
- KPICT reiterated its commitment to end the military dictatorship despite Chinese pressure.
- Myanmar National Democratic Alliance Army (MNDAA) said Tatmadaw has breached the terms of the April agreement, which was agreed in China.
- Two local strike forces jointly conducted the “Umbrella Strike” in Salingyi township, Sagaing to mark the 37th anniversary of the 8888 Uprising.
