- On October 26, ASEAN released a collective statement, calling for political discussions involving all concerned should take place before the election.
- Since October 28, the campaigning period for parliamentary candidates contesting the regime-organized election officially began, and political parties will start broadcasting campaign speeches on television and radio from 7 p.m. tonight, according to UEC of In certain constituencies, more than 30 candidates will be automatically elected as MPs in phase I of the elections, as no opponents are contesting against them.
- On 27 October, GSCB announced the boycott campaign against elections, which will start from 28 October to 31 December, since Tatmadaw’s election is solely to strengthen its illegitimate grip on power.
- On 28 October, NLD released a statement regarding the legitimacy of the 2020 general election and the current situation in Myanmar, including public rejections of the 2025 election organized by Tatmadaw.
- On October 27, Myanmar’s 2024 Population and Housing Census Union Report was released in Nay Pyi Taw, highlighting that the country’s total population is 51.4 million, including 19.2 million people estimated from areas where data could not be collected.
- Conflicts are reportedly intense between Tatmadaw and resistance forces in townships, namely, Madaya, Mogoke, Salingyi, Kale, Banmuak, and Chaung U, among others.
- Local sources reported that spy balloons were used by Tatmadaw in several townships of Magway and Sagaing to monitor the ground situations.
- Until 28 October, seven months after the earthquake, reconstruction efforts in Mandalay are still ongoing, and many needs remain unmet.
