Myanmar: Four years after coup, world must demand accountability for atrocity crimes

Joint Statement:
Governments, donors, and international agencies should support and pursue a wide variety of accountability efforts, including universal jurisdiction, and the potential creation of ‘hybrid’ or similar tailored justice mechanisms. The international community must also impose a global arms embargo, suspend jet fuel exports, and engage with all relevant national stakeholders, including civil society and those most affected by crimes.

Urgent Appeal to Protect Burmese Migrants: A Call for Action from Thailand and Malaysia

Centre for Ah Nyar Studies endorsed a letter campaign led by Stars of Myanmar Friendship UK, alongside 21 civil society groups from Burma. Thailand and Malaysia Embassies in London, UK personally received letters submitted by the groups and people of Burma in the UK. The campaign expresses urgent concern over the deportation of Burmese migrants to Burma and calls on Thailand and Malaysia to provide an urgent response clarifying Thailand’s position and the steps it will take to protect Burmese migrants.
