What is Happening in Central Burma (Ah Nyar)? Issue (32/2025)
Sitrep
- On November 8, CRPH called on the international community, ASEAN, and theN. to reject Tatmadaw 2025-26 elections.
- On November 3, 2025, the Mon State Federal Council (MSFC) announced that it rejects Tatmadaw-organized elections.
- On November 11, youth from the Wa, Ta’ang, and Mon communities called for domestic and international boycotts of the election, saying it was designed to prolong military rule.
- On November 12, Kalaymyo People’s Strike Steering Committee issued five statements, including the one, namely “elections organized by Tatmadaw are merely a political trap”.
- Conflicts are highly intense between Tatmadaw and resistance forces in townships, namely, Madaya, Pauk, Myaing, Wetlet, and Kale, among others.
- As of early November 2025, according to the UNHCR figures, over 3.6 million people are being internally displaced in Myanmar. For instance, about 26,000 people are internally displaced in Banmauk and Wetlet townships, Sagaing, with an urgent need for food, shelter and clothes.
- On November 12, five civilians from Ywartanshey village were arrested as hostages, and two were extrajudicially killed by Tatmadaw forces, which departed from Tha Yet Kan village, Myaing township, Magway. The dead bodies were found near the monastery of Wetpoke village. The victims were seriously tortured before being death, according to locals. The whereabouts of other hostages remain unknown.
