What is Happening in Central Burma (Ah Nyar)? Issue (35/2025)
Sitrep
- On November 28, Mandalay Interim Governing Council (MIGC) is selected by the 11–15 representative blocs from the Mandalay Platform, followed by parliamentary approval.
- TNLA leader, Tar Bone Kyaw, explained the shortages of ammunition and funding, and a decline in its troop strength, which are the reasons to return control of Mogok in Mandalay and Moemeik in northern Shan State to Tatmadaw.
- On late November, according to local sources, in Pathein, the head of the military’s proxy USDP said that any new government formed after the election needs to get along with Tatmadaw. Otherwise, it will collapse the next day.
- Conflicts are reportedly intense across several regions of Central Burma, alongside Tatmadaw military raids and continuous aerial attacks, for instance, in Wetlet, Taze, Chaung U, and Myaing
- In early December, Ah Nyar Myay Alliance stated that two local defense forces based in Pakoku township had joined the group, namely, God of Myaing and Eagle Fighter. They also issued six points, including the military collaboration and codes of conduct among the members.
