As a member of a youthful and energetic team, we expect you to contribute to Centre for Ah Nyar Studies in the ways suggested below but not limited to them.

Overall

Programmes Manager will be responsible for coordinating and managing the programme portfolio of Centre for Ah Nyar Studies. The postholder will work across our programme areas to ensure effective programme planning, implementation, coordination, monitoring, reporting, learning and resource mobilisation. The position will serve as a key link between the organisation’s strategic and technical direction and day-to-day programme implementation.

PM will also work closely with programme teams, research and technical staff, MEL, finance and administration, partners and other relevant stakeholders to ensure that our programmes are implemented effectively, remain responsive to the changing context of Ah Nyar and Burma and contribute to the organisation’s broader strategic objectives.

Key Responsibilities

Programme Management and Coordination

  • Lead the planning, coordination and implementation of our programmes and projects in line with organisational priorities, approved workplans, timelines and budgets.
  • Coordinate across our programme areas, including human rights clinic, governance, crisis response and Ah Nyar Studies.
  • Monitor relevant contextual developments and support programme teams to adapt implementation strategies where necessary.
  • Work with the President and relevant technical leads to ensure the quality, relevance and coherence of our programmes.
  • Coordinate programme planning and performance reviews with MEL, Finance and Administration and other relevant teams.

Fundraising and Donor Relations

  • Identify and track funding opportunities aligned with our strategic and programme priorities and maintain an updated fundraising pipeline.
  • Lead or coordinate the development of concept notes, proposals, theories of change, logical frameworks, work plans and programme budgets.
  • Develop and maintain effective relationships with existing and prospective donors and support long-term funding partnerships.
  • Ensure timely and high-quality donor reports that clearly demonstrate achievements, outcomes, challenges, risks and lessons learned.

Partnerships and External Coordination

  • Develop and maintain strategic relationships with civil society organisations, community-based organisations, research institutions, donors, development organisations and other relevant partners.
  • Coordinate programme partnerships and ensure clear roles, deliverables and communication arrangements.
  • Represent the centre in relevant programme, partnership, donor and coordination meetings as delegated by the executive management.

Team Leadership and Organisational Coordination

  • Supervise, support and coach programme staff and promote effective teamwork, accountability and professional development.
  • Facilitate regular programme coordination meetings and ensure effective communication across programme and organisational teams.
  • Contribute to the centre’s organisational strategy, annual planning, programme development, fundraising strategy and institutional learning.

ABOUT YOU

  • Minimum requirement: Master’s degree in human rights, public administration, public policy, international relations, governance or political science.
  • At least 5 years of relevant professional experience in human rights, governance, crisis responses and qualitative research in Burma.
  • Demonstrated experience in developing project proposals, concept notes, budgets, theories of change, and logical frameworks.
  • Experience in managing a complex portfolio involving governance, human rights, civil society, development or crisis response
  • Strong understanding of the political, social, humanitarian, governance and security context of Ah Nyar and Burma.
  • Strong ability to produce high-quality, precise reports and proposals in English.
  • Good written and oral communication skills in English.
  • Have a strong professional network in Ah Nyar and Burma.
