Sitrep

  • On October 13, six signatories of the Nationwide Ceasefire Agreement (NCA) that are fighting the junta, including the Karen National Union (KNU), Chin National Front (CNF), and All Burma Students’ Democratic Front (ABSDF), urged the international community to boycott the events planned in Naypyitaw by Tatmadaw to mark the NCA’s 10th anniversary.
  • On October 12, People’s Defense Force-Sagaing stated to enhance unity among resistance forces, while Tatmadaw intensifies aerial attacks to control the territories.
  • Conflicts are reportedly intense between Tatmadaw and resistance forces in townships, namely, Banmauk, Natogyi, Pauk, and Myaing, among others, resulting in thousands of civilians being forced into displacement, and an urgent need for food and shelter.
  • According to reports documented by ACLED, showing air and drone strikes in Myanmar in 2024-2025, the number of incidents was recorded as more than double compared to 2021-2023.
  • In addition, on October 10, UNDP reported that nearly 2.5 million young people in Myanmar — one in seven — live in near-constant fear for their personal safety.
