As a member of a youthful and energetic team, we expect you to contribute to Centre for Ah Nyar Studies in the ways suggested below but not limited to them.

Overall

The Programme Officer will directly manage “Tamarlan Project” under the management of the Executive Director. The project is designed to be a core component of the Centre for Ah Nyar Studies, which aims to enhance social cohesion, governance and community resilience. The Programme Officer will be a focal point for the project while he/she will also take other responsibilities under the Centre for Ah Nyar Studies.

Key Responsibilities

  • Build and construct working relations with key stakeholders including youth groups, local administration, civil society groups and local community members across Ah Nyar.
  • Keep updated contact of key stakeholders from Ah Nyar and beyond
  • Monitor humanitarian, security and socio-political context in Ah Nyar and beyond, particularly those which are relevant to our core existence and programming areas.
  • Contribute to the development of new proposals at the organization. Upon delegation by the management, represent the organization at relevant meetings, seminars, and events including meetings with donor institutions
  • Organise work plan of projects under his/her responsibilities and track the progress of project implementation
  • Contribute to the development of monitoring and evaluation plans for the project under his/her responsibilities
  • Prepare monthly project report, monitoring and evaluation reports both internally and externally as required by the project agreement
  • Prepare BvA report monthly together with the Programme Support Department
  • Assist in the preparation of donor reports or lead donor reporting where necessary.
  • Provide monthly and other periodic narrative reports to donor.
  • Supervise and coach supervisees for smooth implementation of the project
  • Lead facilitation in meetings, workshops and discussions as necessary

ABOUT YOU

  • Minimum requirement: Bachelor’s degree in human rights, law, social science and development studies (The exception will be allowed for qualified candidates based on interviews)
  • Preferred experience in managing governance programme
  • Strong ability to produce high-quality, precise reports in English
  • Intermediate level fluency in English
  • Working experience in the non-profit sector
  • Experience in training facilitation and coordination
  • Have a strong network in Ah Nyar and Burma
  • Proactive person with minimal supervision
